The Xavier University Computer Center or XUCC is the center for computing and information technology at Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan. It is part of the College of Engineering. It is located at the 3rd mezzanine of the Center for Industrial Building (CIT) Building. XUCC manages and maintains the university's computer laboratories and the campus-wide network. The Computer Science Program Chair and Faculty hold office here, too. XUCC also hosts the Xavier University Network Management and Services Center or XUNet, the computer network operations unit of the University. XUCC is a founding member of the Philippine Network Foundation, Inc. (PHNet) and the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE). On June 2000, its academic arm, the Department of Computer Science (DCS), was designated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) as one of Region X's Center of Development for Excellence in Information Technology Education. DCS has Level II accreditation with the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU).
Mission Statement XUCC
aims to contribute to national and regional economic development by
helping raise the level of information technology expertise in Northern
Mindanao via education and training programs committed to this purpose. XUCC likewise aspires to take the lead in defining information technology that would be appropriate for the needs of educational and industrial institutions in the region.
